‘Empty View’ snatches Award of Excellence at Canada Short

TEHRAN, Dec. 02 (MNA) – Iranian short animated piece ‘Empty View’ directed by Ali Zare Ghanatnowi, has been awarded at Canada Shorts Film Festival, which is being held in the city of Saint John, in New Brunswick.

The animated piece has snatched the Award of Excellence during the international event.

Shorts from Canada, United States, Spain, Germany and France are competing at the festival.

‘Empty View’ is the heartfelt story of a mother waiting for her son to come back home from war.

The animated piece has recently won three awards at the third Best Short Fest in Canada, the third Great Message International Film Festival in India and the Strasburg Film Festival in Virginia.

According to the event’s portal, Canada Shorts aims to champion short filmmaking and strives to award quality shorts regardless of their budget. Offering awards to over 100 short films per season, the festival tries to ensure indie filmmakers have the opportunity for festival success.
